Escalating Fighting Forces International Organizations to Evacuate Staff from South Kordofan

Follow-ups – Mashawir

The intensification of shelling and the tightening siege by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their ally, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), on the cities of Al-Dilling and the state capital Kadugli in South Kordofan has forced international and humanitarian organizations to urgently evacuate their staff from the area.
According to state-level sources, the organizations evacuated their employees out of the cities following the announcement of their encirclement, the tightening of the blockade, and threats of a possible assault.
After seizing control of the town of Burnu, northwest of the state capital Kadugli, earlier this week, the RSF declared a complete siege on the city. Meanwhile, in coordination with its ally, the SPLM-N, it continues to intensify the blockade on the city of Al-Dilling.
As civilian displacement from the cities increases toward nearby safer areas and beyond the state—particularly toward SPLM-N–controlled areas in Kauda—local initiatives led by tribal and community entities have become more active, seeking to open safe corridors for civilians to evacuate and to avoid direct confrontations.
