Massad Boulos, Senior White House Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, announced a practical convergence between Riyadh and Washington regarding ending the war in Sudan.
Boulos explained that both countries are working together to establish a dialogue framework aimed at resolving the crisis in Sudan, which is experiencing the largest displacement crisis in the world. This, he noted, necessitates placing the Sudanese file among the top humanitarian and political priorities for both nations.
The U.S. envoy emphasized that the United States is cooperating with Saudi Arabia within the framework of the International Quad Group to push forward the peace process in Sudan, in a manner that promotes stability and puts an end to the escalating humanitarian collapse. He added that he held a productive meeting with Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, during which they reviewed regional crises—foremost among them the Sudanese crisis. The meeting resulted in a convergence of views on ways to end the war and halt the suffering of civilians in Sudan.
