UNHCR: Displacement and Underfunding Have Exhausted Health Services in White Nile

White Nile - Mashaweer

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Sudan stated that displacement and years of underfunding have led to the exhaustion of health services in White Nile State.

The state hosts thousands of displaced people fleeing West and South Kordofan states due to escalating fighting and insecurity.

The agency noted that White Nile State has exceeded its capacity, making access to basic medical care a major challenge for both refugees and host communities.

The escalation of fighting and gross violations against civilians in South and West Kordofan have contributed to the displacement of millions of residents to White Nile State.
