RSF Threats Force Residents of the Sukkot Area to Flee Wadi Halfa
Follow-ups – Mashawir

The Supreme Council for the Development of the Sukkot Area in Wadi Halfa locality has issued a statement reassuring residents that the situation is under control and will return to normal soon.
The region has witnessed the evacuation of several groups of residents from their homes following an announcement by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) claiming control over the neighboring areas of Al-Muthallath and Karb Al-Toum.
The council pointed to movements by suspicious groups encouraging citizens to abandon their homes to facilitate looting and theft, in addition to the presence of criminal cells operating in the Khenag market and mining areas, aiming to intimidate traders and force them to leave.
The statement further noted that residents’ fears are not solely related to threats from the RSF. These concerns have been worsened by negative individual behaviors from members of other forces present in the area, which have heightened panic and increased the general sense of insecurity among the population.
