Acting Governor of North Darfur: Food Shortages Forcing People to Eat Animal Feed

Acting Governor of North Darfur, Hafiz Bakhit, stated that “the humanitarian and living conditions in El Fasher have become unbearable due to the worsening crisis beyond all limits.”

He added that lifting the siege on El Fasher has become an urgent necessity, sooner rather than later.

Bakhit acknowledged that severe food shortages and skyrocketing prices have indeed forced people to consume “ombaz,” a type of animal feed, which is now also at risk of running out.
