Malnutrition Ravages Children in South Kordofan State

Follow-ups – Mashawir

Abu Kershola locality in South Kordofan State is witnessing a worrying deterioration in the condition of children suffering from malnutrition, with rising rates of both illness and death amid severe shortages of medical and food supplies.

Between 15 and 16 children are admitted monthly to the treatment center due to complications from malnutrition. The number of deaths ranges from one to two children per month, reflecting the worsening health crisis affecting children in the area.

The situation was further exacerbated after Save the Children International withdrew from the region in July of last year, leading to an even more critical shortage of essential supplies.
