Parties and Groups Call for Immediate Ceasefire and Withdrawal of RSF from El Fasher’s Surroundings

The Emergency Chambers Council in North Darfur State has issued what it called a “final appeal” before total collapse, warning of an imminent humanitarian catastrophe in the city of El Fasher, which has been under siege for over a year.
The council highlighted the depletion of food supplies in local markets, with the remaining goods priced at exorbitant levels, while patients are dying in tents due to a lack of medicines and electricity in hospitals.
A statement from the council stressed that the worsening situation in the city can no longer tolerate delays or hesitation in urgently opening safe humanitarian corridors to deliver aid.
El Fasher is experiencing a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis, with widespread hunger and malnutrition, due to the prolonged siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The city is also facing repeated shelling of residential neighborhoods and ground assaults.
A coalition of political parties and resistance committees—including the El Fasher Coordination and the National Umma Party—expressed deep concern over the humanitarian disaster caused by the military siege and attacks carried out by RSF.
They called for an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of RSF forces from the city’s surroundings, and the opening of safe humanitarian corridors under UN supervision to facilitate aid delivery.
