Saudi Arabia Offers Condolences to Sudan over Jebel Marra Disaster
Mashawir – Reports

Saudi Arabia has expressed its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the government and people of Sudan over the victims of the landslide disaster in Jebel Marra, which claimed the lives of around 1,000 people.
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom affirmed its solidarity with Sudan and its people, extending its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
More than a thousand people were killed after a landslide destroyed Tarsin Village in Jebel Marra, Darfur Region, western Sudan, in one of the worst natural disasters in the country’s modern history.
The Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) stated that the landslide occurred on Sunday following heavy rainfall, adding that the village had been “completely wiped off the map,” with only one survivor.
The movement, which controls the affected area in Darfur, appealed to the United Nations and international relief agencies to help recover the bodies of the victims, including men, women, and children.
