Displacement of thousands of families from West Kordofan due to worsening humanitarian condition
Mashawir – Reports

The city of En Nahud in West Kordofan State and its surrounding areas have witnessed the displacement of thousands of families toward safer areas in North Kordofan State, particularly the city of El Obeid. This came as people fled violations and the severe deterioration of humanitarian conditions, amid acute shortages of food, an escalating drinking water crisis, and the near-total collapse of basic services, which made it extremely difficult to remain in those areas.
According to several displaced people who arrived in El Obeid, the main reasons that forced them to leave their homes included the soaring prices of essential goods and the difficulty of obtaining them, in addition to the drinking water crisis and the rise in theft and looting incidents carried out by unidentified armed groups.
Following the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) takeover of En Nahud, the city experienced a state of lawlessness, pushing residents to flee to neighboring villages and towns.
However, the absence of services and the deteriorating security situation in those alternative areas forced hundreds of families to be displaced again, moving to different places including El Obeid and towns in eastern and northern Sudan, in search of minimal stability and safe living conditions.
