The city of Kadugli, capital of South Kordofan State, came under drone attacks believed to have been carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The strikes targeted an ammunition depot belonging to the artillery corps, as well as buildings of the Health Sciences Academy, causing severe material damage to property and infrastructure.
Witnesses reported that the attacks triggered widespread panic and fear among residents, prompting many families to flee toward the northern parts of the city.
Kadugli has seen repeated military escalations in recent weeks by the RSF, in what appears to be an effort to destabilize the city and open a new front against the army.
The latest drone strikes come just days after similar attacks targeted residential neighborhoods and public service facilities in the city, while the Sudanese army continues operations to secure the surrounding areas and pursue elements threatening the city’s stability and security.
