The Sudanese Electricity Holding Company confirmed in a statement that the Sennar power substation was targeted by drone strikes, which may lead to service disruptions.
The statement added that technical teams will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage sustained by the station.
Meanwhile, the Blue Nile Regional Government reported that the attack on Damazin city was the third of its kind, but the Army’s 4th Infantry Division successfully foiled the attempt. The statement noted that two civilians were injured and have been taken for medical treatment.
It further explained that the repeated drone attacks have caused a massive wave of displacement from villages west of the Roseires Dam toward safer areas, while also triggering a severe water crisis after water stations went out of service due to the power outage—deepening the suffering of residents.
