Mossad Boulos Reveals Details of Ceasefire Proposal, Announces Positive Response from Both Warring Parties in Sudan

Reports – Mashawir

Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, Mossad Boulos, has revealed details of a proposed plan presented by the United States to both sides of the Sudanese conflict a week ago, aimed at ending the war in Sudan.

Boulos explained that the U.S. proposal submitted to the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) includes two main options:

1. A three-month humanitarian truce, or

2. A nine-month ceasefire,

with a focus on establishing a comprehensive agreement outlining mechanisms for monitoring, follow-up, implementation, and addressing technical, logistical, and supply-line arrangements.

He confirmed that there has been constructive engagement from both sides, particularly from the Sudanese army.

During a meeting with a group of Sudanese journalists at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Boulos expressed optimism about the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement in Sudan, noting that both the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF have shown positive responses to the initiative.
