Dozens of Children Killed in South Kordofan

Mashawir – Reports

A strategic drone attack on three sites in the Kalogi area of Gadier locality in eastern South Kordofan—including the premises of a local kindergarten—has killed dozens of children, amid conflicting accounts of the total death toll in the absence of an official count.

Witnesses reported that the drone repeatedly targeted a kindergarten graduation ceremony with missile strikes, resulting in the deaths of 30 children.

They added that as residents rushed in to rescue the injured, the drone launched two additional missiles, which likely pushed the number of casualties to more than 40 dead, along with dozens wounded, including parents who had hurried to save their children.

The “Sudanese Doctors Network” condemned the killing of nine people—including four children and two women—in what it described as the deliberate targeting of civilians by the SPLM-N and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the town of Kalogi.

In a statement, the network described the attack as a clear crime against civilians, “for which both the SPLM-N and the RSF bear responsibility.”

Just a week earlier, the RSF had shelled a displacement camp in the Kalba area of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, killing three children and two women and injuring four others with varying degrees of wounds.
