Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) announced that 10,000 displaced people have recently arrived in Tawila locality as part of the mass flight from the city of El Fasher.
The organization explained that thousands of civilians fleeing El Fasher encountered overcrowded camps in Tawila, facing dire conditions with insufficient water, food, shelter, and sanitation facilities.
Following its takeover of El Fasher, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were implicated—according to UN and human rights reports—in committing grave atrocities, including ethnic mass killings, forced displacement, and rape. The RSF also continues to face accusations of holding thousands of civilians inside the city under harsh conditions.
