U.S. Presidential Advisor for African Affairs, Massad Boulos, stated that the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed to intensify their joint efforts to help reach a peaceful end to the conflict in Sudan and to outline practical steps toward a humanitarian ceasefire and lasting stability.
In a post following high-level meetings held in Riyadh, Boulos explained that the Sudanese file was a top priority in his discussions with Saudi officials.
He noted that both sides agreed to expand humanitarian access and ensure the flow of aid to Sudanese people affected by the war.
Boulos added that Washington and Riyadh discussed deepening bilateral cooperation and activating the role of the Quartet mechanism, in ways that contribute to promoting regional peace and stability.
He pointed out that joint coordination aims to shift from crisis containment to a practical path leading to a cessation of hostilities and addressing the humanitarian consequences.
