Children and the Elderly in the Plain: IDPs of Kordofan are Facing Hunger and Disease

Reports - Mashaweer

Military battles in South Kordofan and the ongoing siege of Kadugli and Dilling have worsened the suffering of thousands who were forced to flee surrounding villages near the towns of Habila and Feu. Displaced people have headed toward mountains and rugged terrain to escape aerial bombardment and artillery fire.

According to activists, these displaced individuals are living in the open under harsh weather conditions. They have been deprived of the most basic necessities, including shelter and clean drinking water. Meanwhile, humanitarian organizations are unable to reach them because main roads have turned into military frontlines and corridors for drones, effectively isolating South Kordofan from the rest of the world.

Activists noted that the excessive use of drones around Dilling and Kadugli has caused a state of terror among residents, who no longer have safe havens to turn to.

The situation is rapidly sliding toward a humanitarian catastrophe in South Kordofan following the disruption of aid deliveries and the inability of the injured particularly women, children, and the elderly to reach hospitals located in relatively safe areas.
