Tine Emergency Rooms issue an appeal to save displaced people in Darfur

Tine - Mashaweer

The Emergency Rooms Council of Tine locality in North Darfur State has issued an urgent appeal to save more than 760 displaced families who recently arrived in the locality, amid humanitarian conditions described as catastrophic due to the absence of shelter, water, food, and health services.

The council said in a statement that the displaced families are living in the open under the sun, in an environment that lacks the most basic necessities of life, which exacerbates their suffering, especially during the month of Ramadan.

The statement explained that the displaced people are distributed across several new sites, which it did not name but referred to by letters, such as Site D, which includes about 350 families and suffers from an acute food shortage despite having large numbers of children and the elderly, according to the statement.

It pointed out that Site E includes about 170 families who lack tents and tarpaulins, forcing them to sit on the ground in harsh weather conditions.
