The United Nations stated that “after nearly three years of this brutal war, millions of people in Sudan are still paying the highest price.”
It added that “around 34 million people are in need of assistance, the highest number anywhere in the world.”
The organization stressed that “there is an urgent need for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan.”
The war in Sudan is approaching its third year, having claimed tens of thousands of lives and displaced more than 11 million people, creating the largest displacement and hunger crisis in the world.
