Relief Convoy Launched to Support People Affected by the War Across Sudan

Port Sudan – Mashawee

A humanitarian relief convoy departed from the city of Port Sudan, consisting of 43 trucks carrying approximately 70,000 food baskets, in addition to 18,000 sacks of flour, to meet the needs of people affected by the war across various Sudanese states. The assistance will reach all five Darfur states, North and West Kordofan, as well as beneficiaries in Khartoum State.

The initiative, launched by the Humanitarian Aid Commission, targets refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), war-affected communities, Quranic schools (khalwas), and persons with disabilities as part of ongoing efforts to ease the worsening humanitarian situation.

Speaking to Mashaweer, Ismail Habib, one of the initiative’s coordinators, said:

> “The convoy aims to strengthen efforts to support those affected by the war and reinforce the values of national solidarity by delivering humanitarian assistance to the areas most in need.”

Meanwhile, Ayman Sharaf Al-Din, a member of the Khartoum State Emergency Room, called for increasing food allocations for community kitchens (takayas) in the state.

He told Mashaweer that the recent increase in the number of returnees has significantly raised demand for meals and humanitarian services, emphasizing that greater assistance is needed to ensure the continued provision of support to vulnerable families.
