United Nations: “43” Children Killed in Drone Strikes in the Kordofan Region

Report – Mashawir

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights indicated that at least 104 people, including 43 children, have been killed in drone attacks in the Kordofan region since December 4.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk expressed deep concern over the escalation of fighting among the warring parties in the volatile region, particularly with regard to airstrikes that earlier targeted hospitals, a kindergarten, and a UN base.

Meanwhile, the International Organization for Migration reported that its field teams estimated the displacement of hundreds of people from the city of Kadugli due to deteriorating security conditions, with many dispersing across various locations in Al-Rahad and Sheikan localities in North Kordofan State.

This military escalation comes amid extremely complex humanitarian conditions, as ongoing clashes have forced civilians to flee and caused damage to infrastructure, while severe shortages of essential services persist.
