Several states in Sudan are witnessing a noticeable resurgence of dengue fever after a period of relative decline in infection rates.
According to the latest health reports, more than 6,000 cases have been recorded in River Nile State alone since the beginning of the year, including 205 cases reported within just two days, in addition to 12 cumulative deaths.
The disease continues to spread in other states, including the capital Khartoum, Al Jazirah, and Darfur.
As part of efforts to combat the outbreak, the General Directorate of Health Emergencies and Epidemic Control held a meeting with community leaders and representatives of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society to discuss urgent interventions and strengthen community coordination to curb the spread of the disease.
