Former Sudanese Prime Minister: No Role for the Muslim Brotherhood in Any Political Process

Abu Dhabi – Mashawir

Former Sudanese Prime Minister and head of the Civil Democratic Alliance of the Forces of the Revolution “Somoud,” Abdalla Hamdok, said that “any humanitarian truce not accompanied by a clear political process becomes a double-edged sword that could entrench the division of the country.”

He added: “I renew the call on both sides of the war to accept an urgent humanitarian truce without preconditions to stop the bloodshed and pave the way for humanitarian assistance and a comprehensive solution to the crisis.”

Hamdok continued: “There is no place in the political process for any role by the ‘terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group,’ which caused all this death and destruction.”

He further stated that “countries in the region must deal firmly with this group, whose danger extends beyond Sudan’s borders and threatens international peace and security.”
