The discussions also addressed humanitarian funding operations and the logistical obstacles hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to Sudan.
In a joint statement, both sides welcomed calls by Sudanese civilian forces for an end to the war, urging the parties to the conflict to prioritize the interests of the Sudanese people and engage in comprehensive dialogue leading to a consensual political solution.
For his part, António Guterres affirmed the continuation of efforts with international partners and the Quintet group to resolve the Sudanese crisis and end the war.
