27 Civilians Killed in Armed Attack on Areas in North Kordofan
Bara – Mashawir
The Sudan Doctors Network accused a force affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out an armed attack on a civilian area with no military presence on the second day of Eid al-Adha, resulting in the deaths of 27 people, including elderly residents.
The network stated that the attack took place in villages in the Al-Marra area, west of the city of Bara in North Kordofan State.
It added that targeting villages and civilian communities and killing residents in such a manner constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and of all conventions and norms that prohibit attacks on civilians, particularly amid the catastrophic humanitarian conditions caused by the ongoing war.
The Kordofan region has become one of the main centers of conflict as fighting intensifies on multiple fronts, including the increased use of drones in military operations.
