Sudanese Teachers Committee: Our Position Supports Students’ Right to Education Away from Political and Military Polarization

Khartoum – Mashawir

The Sudanese Teachers Committee stated that it is closely monitoring the commencement of the parallel Sudanese Secondary School Examinations in areas under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

In a statement, the committee reaffirmed its consistent position in support of students’ right to education and the continuation of their academic journey, free from the political and military polarization imposed on the country by the ongoing war.

The committee emphasized that this position should not be interpreted as support for any party to the conflict, nor should it be viewed as an endorsement of any political or military project.

“Our position stems solely from our commitment to the interests and future of students,” the statement said.

In this context, the committee stressed that the historical and moral responsibility rests with any party that obstructs the organization of unified Sudanese Secondary School Examinations or prevents the adoption of solutions that guarantee all students the right to sit for a single national examination.

The committee reiterated the importance of safeguarding education from the consequences of the conflict and ensuring equal educational opportunities for students across all parts of Sudan.
