Deteriorating Humanitarian Situation for Residents Trapped in Al-Nuhud

West Kordofan – Mashawir

The Dar Hamar Emergency Room has complained that Al-Nuhud, one of the largest cities in West Kordofan State and currently under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has been subjected to widespread looting and destruction. The violations reportedly included stripping public buildings and private homes of all their contents, including doors, windows, and parts of basic infrastructure, which were then transported out of the city.

In a statement, the Emergency Room appealed to the Sudanese Armed Forces and their allies to intervene urgently to protect civilians.

The statement stressed that “the humanitarian situation is deteriorating rapidly and the lives of the remaining residents are now under serious threat.”

The RSF has controlled Al-Nuhud since May 2023, following intense fighting with the Sudanese army.
