Closure of Community Kitchens in East Darfur Threatens the Lives of Hundreds of Displaced People

The Emergency Response Room in El Daein, East Darfur State, has announced the suspension of community kitchens at the Sabreen Camp for displaced persons, putting the lives of 1,600 displaced people at risk.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Emergency Response Room said that the camp’s population consists mainly of children and people with special needs.

It added that the displaced residents are facing an increasing risk of suffering under the current conditions.

The Emergency Response Room warned that the most vulnerable groups are at risk of hunger and malnutrition amid severe humanitarian challenges.
