Emergency Rooms Support Displaced Families in South Kordofan with Food and Shelter Assistance

South Kordofan – Mashaweer

The Al-Amal Emergency Room in the Dallami area of South Kordofan State has implemented the second phase of a project to distribute food assistance and shelter supplies to more than 400 displaced families and households affected by fires. The initiative was supported by the South Kordofan Emergency Rooms Coordination Council.

The assistance included essential food items as well as shelter materials aimed at supporting displaced families facing difficult living conditions as a result of displacement and the ongoing conflict.

Adel Sabri, a member of the South Kordofan Emergency Room, told Mashaweer that the food baskets contained sorghum, sugar, and soap, while the shelter kits included plastic sheeting (tarpaulins), blankets, and sleeping mats.

He noted that the project is part of an emergency response designed to meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable families in the area.

Meanwhile, displaced resident Hassan Nimr told Mashaweer that the assistance had helped ease some of the hardships facing displaced households, particularly amid rising prices of basic commodities and the difficulty of meeting daily living needs.

He added that many families remain in need of additional food assistance and shelter materials, especially as displacement continues and humanitarian challenges increase.

He expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue and expand to reach all those affected.
