Dengue Fever Spreads Across Blue Nile, Dozens of Deaths Reported

The Resistance Committees in Damazin have called on the regional authorities to declare a public health emergency due to the alarming outbreak of dengue fever, warning that the epidemic has spiraled out of control.

The committees cautioned that the disease could spread to other localities if urgent measures are not taken to contain the outbreak.

According to a statement issued by the committees, the number of dengue fever cases in Damazin has exceeded 3,000, with dozens of deaths recorded. The disease has spread rapidly over the past two weeks, affecting many neighborhoods across the northern, central, and southern parts of the city.

The statement also noted reports indicating that infections and deaths have now been recorded in Rosaires, the second-largest city in the Blue Nile Region.
