Awareness Forum Promotes the Values of Peaceful Coexistence in Darfur

The Youth Campaign to Stop the War and Support Sudanese Dialogue, through its office in Golo locality, Central Darfur State, organized an awareness forum on peaceful coexistence and tolerance as part of its efforts to promote a culture of peace and reject violence within war-affected communities.

The forum focused on the importance of strengthening the principles of peaceful coexistence and tolerance as fundamental pillars for building a cohesive society.

Participants discussed the role of these values in shaping community awareness, promoting mutual respect, and reinforcing human rights principles, thereby helping to reduce conflict and foster greater stability.

Suleiman Ali, a member of the Youth Campaign to Stop the War and Support Sudanese Dialogue, told Mashaweer that promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence is an urgent necessity in light of the consequences of the ongoing war.

He stressed that local communities need sustained awareness initiatives that encourage dialogue, tolerance, and opportunities for community reconciliation.

Ali added that, through these activities, the campaign aims to engage all segments of society—particularly young people—in peacebuilding efforts by promoting the values of acceptance, coexistence, and social cohesion, helping to rebuild the social fabric and create a more stable environment in conflict-affected areas.
