Thirst Engulfs Displaced People in Al-Tina, Deepening Humanitarian Suffering

The Al-Tina Locality Emergency Room in North Darfur State has reported that displaced residents in the town are facing severe shortages of drinking water.
It noted that children begin queuing from the early hours of the morning, before sunrise, every day to collect water from tanker trucks dispatched by the Emergency Room in an effort to bridge the growing gap in this essential service.
In a statement, the Emergency Room said it is supplying approximately 200 barrels of water daily to displaced people in Al-Tina locality.
The statement added that the suffering of children begins before dawn, as they stand alongside adults waiting for their turn to collect water.
The Emergency Room further stated that children spend long hours standing without rest, their small bodies exhausted and their pale faces marked by uncertainty as they wait for drinking water. Their childhood has been interrupted, as they now carry heavy water containers instead of school bags.
