Initiatives to Support Displaced Families in Northern Sudan

Dongola – Mashaweer

Volunteers in Northern State have announced preparations to implement a food basket distribution project in the Kerma area of Al-Burayq Locality, as part of humanitarian efforts to support displaced families and the most vulnerable households while strengthening food security in the region.

The project aims to provide food assistance to targeted families, helping to ease the economic burden on the most vulnerable groups, particularly amid the continued impact of displacement and the rising cost of living.

Speaking to Mashaweer, Sarah Al-Sadiq, a representative of the Sangara Voluntary Work Organization, said that the implementing partners had discussed coordination mechanisms with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) and other relevant authorities to ensure that the project is carried out in line with established humanitarian priorities and that assistance reaches the eligible families in the targeted areas.

She added that the joint coordination aims to ensure equitable distribution of assistance and enhance the efficiency of the humanitarian response, thereby meeting the food needs of the communities most affected by the ongoing crisis.
