The Sudan Doctors Network has reported that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) looted and destroyed Jabra Al-Sheikh Hospital in North Kordofan State and converted it into a military barracks.
In a statement, the network stressed the need to refrain from using healthcare facilities as military bases or barracks and called for respect for the neutrality of medical institutions, urging all parties not to target or loot them.
The statement also called for the protection of healthcare facilities and medical personnel and demanded accountability for those responsible for the violations that led to the destruction of Jabra Al-Sheikh Hospital and forced it out of service.
The network accused the RSF of targeting healthcare facilities and civilian infrastructure during its conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces.
Videos circulating after the Sudanese army regained control of the area showed the extensive destruction inflicted on the hospital.
