The Sudanese Ministry of Health has reported more than 13,000 cases of HIV/AIDS and 46,000 cases of hepatitis B and C through 2025, while dengue fever infection rates have declined in most states.
The Ministry’s Communicable Diseases Department, during the weekly meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center in Khartoum, said it had recorded approximately 32,000 cases of hepatitis B and 23,000 cases of hepatitis C through 2025, in addition to 13,401 HIV/AIDS cases recorded through 2026.
It added that epidemiological reports showed the continued detection of cholera cases in West Kordofan and North Kordofan states, while Blue Nile State reported cases of hepatitis E, alongside continued dengue fever infections.
Surveillance reports indicated that malaria infection rates remained stable in most states, while Red Sea State continued to record cases of heatstroke.
