The humanitarian situation for displaced people in Sudan is worsening amid escalating military operations in several states, with increasing numbers of people fleeing conflict-affected areas and facing severe shortages of food, healthcare, and water.
The deterioration comes as local authorities and humanitarian organizations struggle to bridge the widening gap between the scale of needs and the assistance available.
In White Nile State, specifically in the city of Kosti, more than 25,000 displaced people are living in Gouz Al-Salam Camp, which is considered the largest displacement camp in the city, according to camp supervisors.
The health situation represents another dimension of the suffering, amid deteriorating healthcare services and the spread of diseases, particularly measles.
According to camp supervisors, around 50 children have died in recent months as a result of the outbreak, while the camp continues to receive newly displaced people.
