Supporting Displaced Families in Tawila to Improve Food Security

The Tina Emergency Response Room in North Darfur State has launched a project to distribute improved agricultural seeds to displaced families, as part of efforts to support agricultural production, strengthen livelihoods, and improve food security for families affected by the war.
The project, implemented in the Idar area, targeted around 200 displaced families, aiming to enable them to take advantage of the agricultural season and achieve greater self-reliance amid declining employment opportunities and growing humanitarian needs.
Hawa Mahmoud, a displaced woman, told Mashaweer that “providing seeds represents important support for displaced families and helps them produce food instead of relying entirely on humanitarian assistance.”
She added that “families need further agricultural support, including farming tools and inputs, as well as access to water and basic services, so they can benefit from the agricultural season and improve their living conditions.”
