Masad Boulos: Humanitarian Truce in Sudan Would Allow Unhindered Flow of Aid

Masad Boulos, the U.S. President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, said he had “held productive discussions with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen on the urgent need for a humanitarian truce in Sudan.”

He added that “a truce in Sudan would allow humanitarian assistance to flow on a larger scale and without obstruction.”

Boulos explained that they “discussed steps by the Quintet mechanism to facilitate Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.”

He continued: “There is no military solution to the Sudanese crisis, and there is a need to halt foreign military support to the warring parties.”
