Port Sudan – Mashaweer
The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that Sudan has launched a campaign to vaccinate 928,000 people against cholera in West Darfur and West Kordofan states.
In a post on X, the organization said Sudan launched oral cholera vaccination campaigns this week in Darfur and West Kordofan, with technical, operational and logistical support from WHO and UNICEF.
The campaigns aim to protect approximately 928,000 people over the age of one from cholera, helping to slow the transmission of the disease alongside other measures being implemented in response to the outbreak.
The statement said the response campaign in West Kordofan is being carried out in the localities of Al-Nuhud, Dibanda and Al-Fula.
