Initiative Supports Food Needs of Sudanese Refugees in Chad

Al-Fasher Takiya has launched its sixth food distribution for September, with support from a community initiative, providing meals to Sudanese families and refugees living in the Talom camp in eastern Chad. The initiative is part of humanitarian efforts aimed at mitigating the impact of the food crisis and easing the suffering of people who have fled the war.
Nasser Abdel Karim, a volunteer at Talom camp, told Mashawir that “the initiative is an extension of ongoing relief efforts that have continued for more than two years, aimed at providing food and basic support to displaced people and refugees living in difficult humanitarian and living conditions inside the camps.”
Abdel Karim explained that “Al-Fasher Takiya continues to provide meals in coordination with charitable organizations and donors, in an effort to expand community solidarity and help bridge part of the food gap facing families affected by the humanitarian crisis.”
He noted that “the continuation of such initiatives provides direct support to refugee families amid growing food and livelihood needs.”
He called for greater support for local initiatives working to respond to these needs.
