Massad Boulos: Sudanese People Need a Humanitarian Truce

US Presidential Adviser for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos said on Monday that he held talks in New York with the foreign ministers of Sudan and Egypt on efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement in Sudan.
In a post on the X platform, Boulos said, “The Sudanese people need a humanitarian truce that can pave the way for comprehensive dialogue and for a united and peaceful Sudan.”
The United States is leading efforts through the Quad, which also includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, to secure a three-month ceasefire in Sudan as a step toward signing a peace agreement and launching a political process.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, his Sudanese counterpart Mohieddin Salem, and Massad Boulos held a trilateral meeting to discuss developments in Sudan and efforts aimed at ending the conflict and restoring security and stability.
