The Dar Hamar Emergency Committee revealed that yesterday, Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked villages in the rural areas of El-Khowei locality, targeting the villages of Um Daruta Fa’oum and Bani Badr west of El-Nuhud. The forces assaulted civilians, looted markets and water stations, exacerbating the plight of over 10,000 displaced people who are now deprived of water due to the closure of water stations in El-Khowei.The committee noted that the lack of security on roads has put thousands of civilians at risk of thirst and led to livestock deaths. In a statement, the committee explained that residents of El-Khowei city are facing the dangers of hunger and thirst following the looting of markets and homes and the destruction of water stations by the RSF militia. It demanded that the militia cease depriving residents of their natural right to water, restore the operation of water pumping stations, and secure roads and pathways. The statement added that displaced people scattered in the open around El-Nuhud city since its fall are suffering severely without any humanitarian aid reaching them so far, while markets, bakeries, mills, and water stations in the area have remained closed for several days. The committee also pointed out that the RSF continues to carry out physical liquidations inside homes in the city and prevents victims’ families from burying their relatives, turning El-Khowei into a ghost town permeated with the stench of death due to the bodies and remains of the deceased littering the streets.
