OCHA: 38% of Children in Displacement Centers in El Fasher Suffer from Acute Malnutrition

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has revealed a widespread outbreak of acute malnutrition in displacement centers in El Fasher, North Darfur State, with 38% of children in these sites affected.

OCHA stated that an assessment conducted by humanitarian partners and local authorities showed that 38% of children under the age of five in displacement sites in El Fasher suffer from acute malnutrition, including 11% suffering from severe acute malnutrition.

It also pointed out that the collapse of water and sanitation services, along with low vaccination coverage, has significantly increased the risk of disease outbreaks.
