Heavy Rain in Khartoum Washes Away Decomposed Bodies

Follow-ups – Mashawir

Heavy rainfall hit several areas across Khartoum State, leading to significant water accumulation in neighborhoods and streets.

The flooding washed away remnants of the ongoing war, including decomposed bodies, and disrupted transportation, particularly in the densely populated areas of Omdurman.

The rain began while sanitation workers were in the process of repairing drainage systems. Before they could complete their tasks, torrential rain suddenly poured down, forcing them to begin draining water using the tools at hand.

Officials in Khartoum State reported receiving complaints from residents that rainwater had carried decomposing bodies into drainage channels in the East Nile area, believed to be the remains of Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters.
