U.S. Embassy in Khartoum Urges Protection of Civilians and Access to Aid

The U.S. Embassy in Khartoum stressed the urgent need for immediate action from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to ensure humanitarian aid reaches the residents of El-Fasher and surrounding camps.

In a post on its X platform page, the Embassy expressed shock over reports of the worsening humanitarian situation in El-Fasher, where thousands of civilians face the risk of famine amid ongoing military escalation that has put innocent lives—especially women and children—at grave risk.

The post emphasized the importance of both warring parties honoring their commitments under the Jeddah Declaration and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2736, which include protecting civilians and ensuring unhindered humanitarian access in Darfur and across the rest of Sudan.
