Shortage of Medicines and IV Fluids Deepens Patients’ Suffering in Khartoum State

Mashawir – Reports

Khartoum State is facing a severe shortage of intravenous fluids used in the treatment of dengue fever, at a time when the state is witnessing a noticeable increase in infection rates.

According to medical sources, this shortage is complicating patient care and raising health concerns, especially amid the growing number of cases.

The sources urged health authorities to take urgent action to provide medicines and prevent serious health complications that could result from the shortage.

Despite recent efforts by the Federal Ministry of Health, including launching comprehensive spraying campaigns across the seven localities of Khartoum State to eradicate disease vectors, both dengue fever and malaria continue to spread widely.

It has now become rare to find a household without at least one family member infected by these diseases, which are wreaking havoc among the state’s residents.
