El Fasher Resistance Committees: Children Are Dying of Hunger Beside Their Mothers

A statement issued by the El Fasher Resistance Committees Coordination painted a grim picture of the situation facing children and the wounded in the city, noting that children are dying of hunger beside their mothers.
The coordination group reinforced its message by posting a photo of a mother sitting beside her daughter who had died of starvation while fleeing from El Fasher to Tawila locality in North Darfur.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the group said:
> “The people of El Fasher are guilty of nothing except being born in a city the world has chosen to ignore — a city where children, the elderly, and the wounded are left between life and death without food or medicine, lying on the bare ground with no voice demanding their right to survive.”
The statement concluded with a haunting question:
> “How much pain, how much blood, how many bodies will be enough to awaken a conscience to end this tragedy?”
