Situation Worsens for 500 Sudanese Families Fleeing to the Chadian Border

Follow-ups - Mashaweer

Activists have revealed the worsening humanitarian conditions for more than 500 families who fled to areas near the border with Chad, amid a severe shortage of food, shelter, and basic services.

The Tina Emergency Response Room stated in a report that “approximately 534 families are suffering from extremely difficult humanitarian conditions and require urgent intervention to provide shelter, food, healthcare, and clean drinking water.”

The Emergency Room inspected the displaced persons who fled from the areas of Abu Qamra, Ad al-Khair, Shartabay, Jarbouki, Miski, Tawqi, Ambara, Luka, and Abu Leiha. These families are currently living out in the open on the border with Tine, Chad.

The North Darfur Emergency Room Council had previously issued a severe warning regarding the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Ambaro locality since late last December, as the region experiences tragic conditions that have led to the forced displacement of more than 6,500 families toward valleys and neighboring villages.
