The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in collaboration with the UN Development Coordination Office, has announced the establishment of the Development Partners Group for the Regional Sudanese Refugee Crisis.
This move comes as part of adopting a “Humanitarian-Development Nexus” approach. It aligns with the UNHCR’s commitment to seeking long-term solutions from the onset of emergencies by linking urgent humanitarian response with sustainable development programs and enhancing coordination between international and regional partners.
The new group aims to unify efforts and mobilize resources to support both refugees and host communities, with a primary focus on strengthening resilience.
Furthermore, the group seeks to achieve long-term responses that reduce dependency on emergency aid while supporting stability and development in the regional countries affected by the crisis.
