The Secretary-General of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Jan Egeland, stated that “South Kordofan State has become the most dangerous and isolated region in Sudan.”
He pointed out that “civilians are subjected to continuous shelling and attacks.”
Egeland added that the current situation is man-made and is heading toward a “true nightmare.”
He emphasized that following the atrocities in El Fasher, a similar disaster cannot be allowed to happen without urgent intervention and international community monitoring to ensure the protection of civilians and prevent the crisis from worsening.
