RSF Arrests Dozens and Imposes Strict Restrictions on Civilians in Bara

Follow-ups – Mashaweer

Residents told Mashaweer that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a wide-scale arrest campaign in the town of Bara, detaining dozens of civilians on accusations of collaborating with the army. The RSF also imposed strict restrictions on civilian movement in the city, including the prolonged closure of the main market, confiscation of Starlink satellite communication devices, and home raids.

The Sudanese army is reportedly advancing toward Bara in an effort to retake the town from RSF control. In recent days, the army has deployed military reinforcements to advance along two fronts: one from the west of Omdurman, where troops are stationed in the Umm Anduraba area, and another from El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan.

The town is currently facing a shortage of food supplies and soaring prices, as merchants have refrained from transporting goods to the markets for fear of looting.
